Oat Couture
Annie Dempsey of Oat Couture has been knitting and crocheting for over forty years. She began her career with yarn as a fiber artist, showing in galleries nationwide. She then moved on to production knitting for a design house, custom knitting and retail yarn sales. She taught knitting and crocheting for over ten years at her local yarn shop. In 1995, she launched her knit and crochet pattern business Oat Couture. Annie designs and writes every pattern published under that name.
With a life-long passion for all activities involving yarn and thread, Annie approaches her design work with real people in mind. She likes to design projects for all skill levels, aware that knitting and crocheting is fun, both as a means to relax and to challenge oneself.
Annie lives and works in rural southern Oregon with her wonderful husband, two lovely dogs, one not-quite-wild-anymore peacock and one extremely hardy goldfish.
