About Annie's Attic Annie's Attic is located in Berne, Ind. The company published its first needlecraft pattern in 1975 and quickly became one of America's premiere sources for innovative and classic designs, especially in crochet. Patterns were first sold individually, but were eventually combined in a catalog that also featured key supplies.
In 1983, Annie's launched a digest-size magazine called Annie's Crochet Newsletter, which was later renamed Annie's Favorite Crochet. The magazine was relaunched in 2007 as Annie's Hooked on Crochet.
Another important milestone was the introduction of Annie's Calendar Bed Doll Society. Launched in 1990, it introduced a series of elegant crocheted dresses in an Antebellum style sized to fit fashion dolls. With a doll for each month of the year, the Bed Doll collection became so popular that a new series has been created every year since.
In 2001, the focus of Annie's Attic expanded to include young crafters. Creative Girls Club was designed specifically for girls ages 7 through 12, offering members two complete craft kits every six weeks. Each kit includes step-by-step instructions to help young crafters complete each project with little or no adult help. The club was so popular that in 2002 Annie's came out with a similar kit club for older girls and adults, called Creative Woman Kit-of-the-Month Club. This adult version of the club delivers an exciting new craft kit every month.
Current Annie's Attic magazines include:
- Simply Beads, offering page after page of stylish new bead patterns.
- CardMaker, bringing readers creative new card-making designs.
The goal of Annie's Attic is to help bring charm, elegance and romance into the lives of its customers by publishing a wide variety of high quality needlecraft and craft patterns. These patterns are known for exceptional accuracy and clarity in their instructions and brilliant, creative photography.
